Sarah Timperman, Stéphanie Perrin, Survivre et résister à Auschwitz. Des témoins racontent..., 2018. (no. 4) [Surviving and resisting Auschwitz: Witnesses Speak...]

The documentary Surviving and resisting Auschwitz is the fourth volume in the ‘Words from the Archives’ collection produced by Remembrance of Auschwitz from audiovisual testimonies with survivors of the Nazi camps selected from those collected by the Auschwitz Foundation since the 1990s.

Five survivors of the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps, Maryla Dyamant, Hélène Gancarska, David Lachman, Marie Pinhas and Charles Van West, tell us about their experiences in the concentration camps. They talk about their living conditions, the Kommandos working conditions, the brutality of the SS and the Kapos, the selections for the gas chamber and the relationships between prisoners.

This documentary also deals with the question of resistance in the camp through the fate of Mala Zimetbaum, but also the resistance carried out on a daily basis by the deportees to try to survive.

This film, directed by Sarah Timperman and Stéphanie Perrin of Remembrance of Auschwitz, is on sale at the price of €12.50.
