Auschwitz Foundation - Theatre: Martin Sherman’s play BENT on stage in Brussels during January 2012

The performance on January 25 will be followed by a discussion co-chaired by the Director of Remembrance of Auschwitz.


The Bruegel Cultural Center and La Compagnie Artaban are to present BENT, written in 1979 by Martin Sherman. This play was among the first texts to shed light on the fate reserved by the Nazis to homosexuals, the pink triangles, in the concentration camps.

From January 12 to 28, 2012 (except Sundays and Mondays) at 20 h 30, Bruegel Cultural Center (rue Haute, 247 – 1000 Brussels).

 

The performance on January 25 will be followed by a discussion on the play’s past and present influence, and on its conception, chaired by Philippe Mesnard (Remembrance of Auschwitz), Alexis Goslain (the play’s producer) and Benjamin Thomas (who plays Max).
